Everest Base Camp Trekking

Everest Base Camp is a must-visit destination for every trekker who wants to set foot at the base of Mount Everest (8,848m), the world’s highest peak. After taking just a 35-minute scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, the trek begins in Phakding. From Phakding, you will follow the classic path that gently ascends through Sherpa settlements, cultivated fields, the Dudh Koshi valley, Sagarmatha National Park, and monasteries until you reach Namche Bazaar at an elevation of 3440 m. Namche Bazaar, also considered the doorway to the Khumbu region, is the largest Sherpa village and the major trading center, catering to every need of trekkers and locals alike. Here, you are advised to spend at least one more night acclimatizing and exploring before heading to Everest Base Camp.

A slow ascent beyond Namche Bazaar offers spectacular mountain scenery and a visit to the famous Tengboche Monastery set against the backdrop of Mt. Ama Dablam.
Then, the next day, we further continued our trek through Dingboche up to the last village at Gorakshep.

At last, your long-dreamed journey comes true when you arrive at Everest Base Camp and climb the black rock known as Kala Patthar at an elevation of 5545 m to enjoy the breathtaking views of the south-west face of Mt. Everest, the icefall, and surrounding snow-capped peaks. On your return journey, you follow the same previous route up to Lukla, spending a few days along the route at different places.

Trekking to Everest Base Camp requires physical fitness but does not require experience. March to May (spring season) and September to December (autumn season) are the best seasons for EBC and other treks in Nepal.
